 Information/FAQ/Masterpost:

CoE/CoM TLs:

I've been translating for a while and am pretty confident in my skills, but I'm only human and errors might slip through- if you catch an error, a typo, or if you'd just like to ask about a certain translation choice I've made, please feel free to leave a comment here or send an ask on my tumblr.  I'd be happy to talk and fix what I can, so don't be afraid to point it out if you see something!

Adding my TLs to quote bots is allowed, posting screencaps with bits of the TL to other places (like liveblogs) are also allowed. I'd prefer if you credit me if you do so (with my dreamwidth handle/links to that, not to any other handles/places). I'd also like to ask that if you do add my tls to character/series quote bots that you take the full name of the character/series out of the DN/username so every post from the quote bot doesn't show up if people are looking for the character/series.

Posting links to the dreamwidth posts I've made are fine, but don't copypaste the whole text, upload it to your site, and claim it as your own. I also won't....stop you from translating any of my translations into another language if you don't speak JP and have no other way to make it available in other languages but I highly recommend against doing it- things are naturally lost in translation despite my best efforts, which is why I always recommend you read it in the original JP if you can- a translation of a translation may lead to more confusion.

And finally, I'd like to ask that you please don't link these translations to any official account/share them with people who won't like them-- these translations are unofficial fanwork intended to help people enjoy and support series, not intended to take away from any official media or cause trouble.

I don't want to have to take my translations down/make them private, but in the (hopefully not going to happen) case that I see people using them to cause trouble/acting in a way with them that is going to get me blamed for anything they're doing, I will.

There's a reason I'm asking you to be careful about where you link things, so just keep that in mind.

The Cell of Empireo artbook has a lot of information in it that hasn't been mentioned in-depth or at all anywhere else, so I figured I'd make a partial translation so that people can read along with their copies.

However, I'd like to mention a couple of things before you begin.
This document is intended to be read alongside the artbook, not as a substitute to it and is not intended to take away from the creator or their original work.
The artbook is released digitally and can be bought here.
This is an unedited document, so there might be things I've missed, typos, clumsy wording or choppiness. There are also certain names that I had to guess on the reading for, which I will change if I see canon confirmation.

And finally, there's one more note I'd like to add.
I've been having trouble recently with harassment and reposting of my translations.

My translation is not the 'last word' on anything, and if you'd like to do your own versions of anything that I've already done in a way that fits your aesthetic sense better, please do. If you see significant typos and errors in my work, I encourage you to let me know.

However...

This is what I don't want:
Do not edit and reupload my work as your own. Sharing screenshots, reuploading minor quotes (for the purposes of analysis, etc) are fine, but please refrain from reposting this translation in full to other sites or editing, reuploading, and claiming it as your own.

I welcome feedback, but please do not contact over minor aesthetic differences (typos and missing sentences are fine, but I'll leave it to you to decide what's significant versus not.), please be at least somewhat familiar with the language and its grammar before pointing out errors (Google translate does not count as 'somewhat familiar with the language' in this case.), be as detailed as possible, and keep all feedback solely about the translation.

If your comments are overly personal, excessively unclear (for example: mentioning a typo but not the location of the typo or what it is)  or passive-aggressive, they will be deleted or ignored.

The translation can be read here.

[The tap, tap, of heavy boot heels echo on the hard floor.
The footsteps feel large, but in-between them, the sound of multiple smaller steps can be heard.]

J.J: Thank you for your hard work. Are you just here to inspect the organization's facility today?

R.R: What? Oh, is it you again?

Don't just come out of the dark like that. It's not funny.

J.J: Ohoho. Then shall we decorate the room with brilliant lights and adorn it with curtains in order to announce your glorious return?

R.R: ...

J.J: Haahaha! It was a joke, only a joke.

Please, feel free to laugh.

R.R: When I returned, I was in quite a good mood, but I can feel my discomfort index rising rapidly, now that I'm here in this room.

[Luggage is set down, with a thud, and then the snap, snap, of light switches being turned on follows.]

J.J: Ah, yes, now that you mention it...

Today was the day you were visiting the orphanage, wasn't it? I hope the children were well.

R.R: You don't need to worry.

I don't particularly want to hear your attempts at playing a fool, either.

Get to the point.

J.J: Ah, yes, then, I shall.

Yes, it's quite a good thing to have the young ones be full of life...

[After the luggage, there's a sound of someone large sitting down, sinking into the fabric of the seat. Then the flick of a lighter, and the crackling of a cigarette.]

J.J: But even they've been dragged into those goals of yours, haven't they?

R.R:...

[A long exhale, as someone scratches their head intensely.]

R.R: Are you the type of person who doesn't even try to clean their room because 'it'll get dirty in the end, anyway'? Do you not want to eat because you'll get hungry again in the end?

J.J: Hmmmmm.

R.R: Ah...I guess this asshole really wouldn't care about answering this, would he...

J.J: Oh no, no! I understand perfectly! Yes, I definitely do!

Attaching 'in the end' to your sentence implies that you know the outcome of something beforehand. But despite that, that's
simply not enough of a reason to crush the present with your own idleness.

R.R: You're going far too over-the top with this. It's suspicious.

Hm. I'm not like you. I want to take the matters at hand now seriously.

And I don't care if I'm laughed at as a hypocrite for it.

J.J: Oh really? What if I laughed at you?

R.R: I'd probably send you flying.

J.J: Hahahahaha!

[A light sound of clapping.]

R.R: Well then, hurry up and tell me what you've found.

J.J: Right, yes...I'm sure you already know this, but the second dove has been discovered.

R.R: It seems so.

J.J: And all the wings except for myself are moving to shuffle the cards without informing their respective sages.

R.R: Hmm...Has...the clairvoyance managed to read anything?

J.J: I don't know. But in any case, the sixth dove is currently pretty much sealed away. Even if they do manage
to do something, they'll have to be careful and only use means they know are reliable.

R.R: So that means that if we have any party crashers, they're likely to be those bastards from the brain's entertainment?

J.J: Yes. After all, they do everything according to their own whims. And if I had to say, this time it's getting into their territory specifically.
So it'll be a bit difficult for us to make an excuse for getting involved ourselves.

R.R: But, you know...We can't overlook this ourselves, either. If the balance is broken, then there's a possibility of something big happening. Just like it did three years ago.

J.J: Exactly.

R.R: ...

[A 'ahhh' sort of sigh, then a different deep breath. Like someone exchanging all the smoke in their lungs with fresh air.
The clock ticks on and on, as the two of them think.]

R.R: By the way, about the hiding place of those things. Are you sure that information was reliable?

J.J: Yes. It's a ninety percent chance that they're...there and there. Unless they find out that we know and move them, that is.
No matter what happens...changing the owner of an artifact isn't something that can be done carelessly, after all.

R.R: Hmmmmmmmmmm.

[A cigarette is tapped on the edge of a glass ashtray. It may or may not have made a sound. A clump of ash joins the rest of the ash at the bottom of the tray.]

R.R: You must not interfere with this incident. We will observe it, and let them solve it.

J.J: Will that be alright?

R.R: Right now, the most important thing is to prepare to collect the artifacts. We must do it quickly, while the sixth's functions
have been halted. Tell me about any new developments with them, as well.

J.J: Yes, I'll do as you say....And so that means...

R.R: Exactly. It's time to proceed with the other plan.

[The sound of precious metals around someone's neck, rubbing together.]

R.R: Soon, we'll stop pretending to be allies.

[A loud sound effect, the type you'd often hear in a game.]

Shinano: Teyaaaah! You're finished! Deus Ex Machina!

Kotetsu: No waaaaaaay! Amazing! You're so strong!

Shinano: Yaaaaay! My cute little Light's ultimate is like an 'I win' button!

Kotetsu: Amazing! 5 star characters really do just melt bosses!

[The sounds of clapping from the living room, and the sounds of dinner being made from the other side.]

Atou: Two grown adults coming over for an overnight stay and they just play gacha...Well, I guess they can do what they'd like.

Otowa: Gacha?

Atou: Yeah, you know, that one...AteKise.

Otowa: Oh, that one.

[Ingredients are going into the pot. Daikon, carrots, and other root vegetables are hitting the bottom of the pot, with a satisfying sound. In-between the sounds of the stove fan, you can hear a game's background music from a phone.]

Shinano: By the way, Kotetsu, how much of the main story have you read?

Kotetsu: Well, you know, I...I've read about halfway through Episode 4! You told me about Marine and I finally got to meet him, Ei!

Shinano: You're up to Marine! Wow!

[The mustard cabbage is being cut at the root. It looks like a flower inside.]

Otowa: Those two seem full of energy.

Atou: Well, they're close in age, and they're always talking with each other online. So I guess they really would get more excited when they can see each other and play together offline.

Otowa: That depends on the person, doesn't it? Some people want to take their time playing it on their own, others want to get friends together and play something, and other people prefer watching play videos.

Atou: Right, LPers are pretty popular lately, aren't they...

[They can hear Kotetsu's 'Ah', and then the alert sound for a text message.]

Kotetsu: That was Mr. Kachiya. He said he was done with buying things from the clinic.

Shinano: Oh, so does that mean he'll be here in time for dinner?

Kotetsu: Seems like it!

[The utensils are done being used, and are being put into the stainless steel sink.]

Otowa: Haruki, could you wash this towel for me?

Atou: Right.

Otowa: And after, can I ask you to help make the salad?

Atou: Okay.

[The sound of house slippers walking for about 2 or 3 seconds, then the sound of a vegetable drawer in a refrigerator being opened.]

Otowa: Deus ex Machina...?

Atou: Huh? You mean that finishing blow attack they were just talking about?

Otowa: You know, part of that incident 3 years ago can be called a deus ex machina.

Atou: Oh? Really?

Otowa: Right now, no one knows what really happened except the people who were there. And there hasn't been too much information about it that's gotten out to the public afterwards. It's a little unnatural.

Atou: Well...Sometimes I'm not really satisfied with that either, but...if the truth of that really did get out into the world, I'm not sure what I'd do.

[The sounds of both of them preparing food can be heard. The music from the cellphone has stopped, replaced by the sound of the TV.]

Atou: Anyway, I hear the words 'deus ex machina' from time to time, but what do they really mean?

Otowa: Deus ex machina...It means god from the machine. It was originally a theater term. I won't explain the whole thing to you here, but in short...It's a technique in stories or plays where 'God' will show up midway through to solve their problem.

Atou: What?

Otowa: It's not a character, and it's not the ending to the story, either. It's more like...God, or something like it with absolute power, can make the story end in and of itself....That kind of thing, basically.

Atou: Ahh, I see. It seems like it'd be difficult to end a story like that, since people might have...mixed opinions on it.

[The two of them lower their voices, speaking in whispers now.]

Atou: ...So you're saying that there are people who think of what happened to that group as something like that?

Otowa: Yes, that's it.

Atou: God, huh...

[The sound of the vegetables in the salad being mixed together.]

Atou: ...They called Hatsutori the child of God. The origin. They called him absolute, but...

Otowa: Yeah.

Atou: Actually, right now, I'm the one who's...

Otowa: That's right. You are.

[The sound of water, boiling in the pot.]

Atou: But sometimes, I wonder.

[The sounds of laughing voices, on a variety show in the background.]

Atou: Was that really an Origin?

[The voices slowly grow further away.]

Atou: In the end, was he really a grapevine?

[They stop, for a second.]

Atou: And doesn't that mean that the soil that the grapevine grew in is still there?

[All the sound effects that were in the background return.]

Otowa: ...If something...happened again, what would you do?

Atou: Well, if it didn't have anything to do with me, I'd probably just...try to ignore it. I'm like this, after all-- the type who just wants to protect himself.

Otowa: But what if it did have to do with you?

Atou: If that time ever comes, I guess I'll think about it then.

Otowa: I see.

[The doorbell rings.]

Shinano: Ah! Mr. Kachiya is here!

[radio]

Chironex: ...ron! Aaron!! Answer me!!

[sound of emergency radio]

Chironex: It was a surprise attack! Multiple people were injured! Head back, Aaron!

Aaron: This is Aaron. Roger that, heading back now. Are you alright, Chironex?

Chironex: You don't need to worry about me. It's just a scratch. We probably got the jump on them. Yasen dealt with them, so it wasn't a big problem, but JJ's salary's going to be--

(Suddenly, the atmosphere warps into something choking.)

Chironex: ...Wait, Ens isn't here!!

Aaron: Ens?

Chironex: Ens was the one who saved me a while back!

Aaron: Oh, the one who always sleeps in that loft.

[The sound of the radio being dropped to the floor echoes. The noise soon stops, replaced with the sound of running footsteps.]

Chironex: Ens?! Ens! Where are you?! Ens...

[A sharp inhale, as if to cover up an exclamation of shock, then a name called, like a shriek.]

Chironex: Ens!!!

[There's a sound like someone is searching for something, or shaking something. All the while, a name is being called, but with no answer. The person calling begins to cough, and the call sounds more and more like a scream as it continues.]

Aaron: Chironex.

[The person's androgynous voice, previously heard over the radio, echoed through the place as if it was cutting it in half.]

Chironex: Aaron...Ens...Ens is....Ah...Aaah...

Aaron: I guess we couldn't save them. That's unfortunate.

[The sound of something being kicked, and hollowly rattling around on the ground, then the sound of cloth being grabbed onto, and breath.]

Chironex: What the fuck do you mean 'that's unfortunate'?! There has to be...there has to be something!! This is....!!

Aaron:...

Chironex: I promised Ens I'd let them meet my older bro and younger sister!! I...I'm....!

[The sound of a single footstep, then an explosion far away.]

Aaron: Hm. Well, there might still be something you can do.

Chironex: ...What?

Aaron: But, Chironex...

[The sounds of rustling get louder as the cloth continues to brush against the wood chips and rubble again and again.]

Aaron: That all depends on what you can offer me.

[The Twitter Q&A got too long...again...so I needed to split it into a fourth post. Right now this just has the afterword, but I'll probably update this with other translations from the twitter, if I find other interesting tweets.]

[There's an official CoE timeline in the book that came with the artbook, so I decided to translate it.

This contains spoilers for all of CoE and all of the DLC. All of this information is given to you in the DLC, and the DLC itself includes context for who these people are, why these events are important, etc.

I’d recommend reading this after you’ve fully completed the DLC, as a result.

 Cell of Empireo "Walkthrough"

[This is me basically summarizing the guides from here and putting them in one singular place for my own reference (I cut out a bit, so please go check the guides on your own if you'd like). This has what you should do in every chapter to reach S end, & includes Kanou flag. But it also tells you exactly what you should do and has all the puzzle solutions, so if you'd like to figure out what to do/solve the puzzles on your own, I suggest you don't read this. However, I will warn you that a lot of things in CoE are easily missable once you pass certain points and it's very easy to get locked out of the best ending. Do whatever you think is best.
Highlight to read.]
Some notes for those who want the best ending. When you have the chance to talk to allies or party members, talk to them as much as you can right when they become available. Don't wait.
When you see a yellow book on a bookshelf, it's an important book. Read it. (there are other books not marked yellow, but that's how you spot readable materials from a distance.)

For chapter 4:
  • Get the protective charm from Karen when you talk to her. [not 'needed' but will save you from one singular death if it happens]
  • Get the B1F map from the east hallway wall. [again, not 'needed' but useful to have a map]
  • Get the flashlight from the top cardboard box in the nap room. You will lose sanity if you check the other one.
  • Talk to the researcher in the sink room. He will tell you about a blue card. After that, go back to where Yanagi is, talk to her, and she will give it to you.
  • You can use the blue card to get into a room with a lot of machines [first door you see on the top when you enter the west hallway]. There is a door in the back, locked with a 4 digit password. The password is 5326. Go into that room and pick up the metal pipe in the center of the room.
  • Use the metal pipe to pry open the door in the hallway that's slightly open. You will find the green card in that room.
  • This will let you enter the shower room (the door in the back of the break room). In the shower room, check the washing machine on the right to find a key. Go into the shower room farthest on the right and you'll see something shining in the drain. Pick it up. [Something will jump out from the stall next to you once you leave, but it's honestly not all that fast & if you walk straight to the exit you should avoid it without much difficulty.]
  • Go to the women's bathroom and give the ring you just got to the woman blocking your path, and she will leave. Keep in mind if you talk to her too much without having the ring, she will kill you.
  • Check the stall closest to you on the right side of the women's toilets. You'll find AA batteries on the shelf there. Use them.
  • Use the key you found to open Warehouse A [bottom door, west hallway]. You will find a gun in the next room behind it.
  • Go back to the room everyone else is in. This will trigger an unskippable chase scene. Be careful. Unlike many of the other monsters here, this one can chase you through doors and is fast (there's also a lot of flashing red effects & static sounds when it does, so turn your screen brightness down/be warned if you're sensitive to that). You will see the door directly across from Warehouse A open. Run in there. Do not run into Warehouse A, despite Atou saying it seems like a good hiding place. He's wrong and you will get jumpscared and die if you turn your flashlight on.
  • Examine the corpse in the middle of the room in Conference Room B. Kanou will disappear. When you leave Conference Room B, it will trigger another unskippable chase scene (again, warning for the flashing effects and static). Run to the boiler room. (north hallway, door on the top right.). There's a tank fallen to the floor in the boiler room. Push it in front of the door by interacting with it from the left, rather than trying to go around. Keep in mind that you will die if you don't do this quickly enough.
  • Go to the garbage disposal room. There's a shelf in the back that you can move. (turn your flashlight on high). A key will fall off of it. Use it to unlock the room next to the stairs [since you don't have Kanou's key at this point, use the hole]
  • There is a stepladder you'll find in that room. Take it, go back to the room where debris is blocking the way, and use it to climb the debris.
  • [Side note. There is a woman you'll find in the living quarters, who asks you to find her friends. To do this, you'll have to go to Conference Room A, but don't pick up the yellow card you find there before you go back and talk to her or she'll die. This is completely optional & unrelated to the Kanou flag. She'll give you a photo if you successfully do this that can be used to reduce corruption in chapter 4.
  • Pick up the yellow card in Conference Room A. Then examine the corpse in Conference Room B with your flashlight on high to get the notebook.
  • To trigger the Kanou flag, you will need to backtrack to B1F, to the analysis room before Kanou rejoins your party. There's a door that was previously locked that you can unlock with the yellow card. There's a journal in there. Read it. [Keep in mind that you will not be able to trigger the Kanou flag if you read the journal once Kanou's back in your party. Triggering it will change some dialogue in chapters four, five, six, and seven.]
  • Kanou is in the specimen room [door in the north hall, directly across from the boiler room.] Go there and get him. He will give you the red card.
  • There's a shutter that's open a crack in the B2F west hallway. Kanou can pry it open for you. Go in and you will see a flashback, and you'll find a USB cable there. Pick it up.
  • There's a door across from where you got the USB cable [the lab, not the living quarters]. In the back of that room, you'll see a HDD. Pick it up, then you can go back to Conference Room B to use the laptop there to read/listen to everything on them.
  • Once you've done that, head back upstairs to the analysis room and look at the journal with Kanou to get half of a note.
  • Then, go to the specimen interview room (room across from the cell you started the chapter in) with Kanou, and he'll help you guess the four digit password for the room itself. This is randomized every game, but if you want to skip playing a guessing game with Kanou, stand directly in front of the door, then turn to face down and examine the wall in front of you. The code is written there.
  • The other half of the note is inside the room, in the cabinet on the top right. Don't take too long to find it or Kanou will kill you.
  • [you can get the two halves of the notes in whatever order you like.]
  • The password you'll get from the notes is 6957. Use it to unlock the garbage disposal room.
  • [Sidenote: use the dead flashlight and you'll take the dead batteries out of it. When you get to the garbage disposal room with all the monsters in it, and Kanou is in your party, use the dead batteries. He'll throw them at the monsters, scaring some (but not all of them)away. This is also optional, but given there's a chase scene later on that requires you to run through this room, it'll make things easier.]
  • For those sensitive to flashing: the end of chapter 4 chase/escape scene features heavy use of the red flashing sound effect and alarms. [The red flashing screen effect is used a lot throughout the whole game, but it's an extended scene . It's less bad in future chapters, but I'd advise you to turn your screen brightness down if that bothers you.]
  • For the chase scene, just get the gun from the researcher and run down the corridor to the barrel. Keep enough distance between you and the monster, or you won't be able to shoot it and you'll die. Good luck.
Chapter 5 doesn't have any puzzles, but I highly recommend you talk to everyone as much as you can if you want the best ending.

For chapter 6:
  • Get the map from the man in the 3F break room. This is optional, but it's nice to have a map.
  • Go to the library on 1F, and examine the door.
  • The key you're looking for is in the 1F break room. You can get it whatever way you want, but using Atou's powers will increase corruption. (You can just ask the guy for it. It's fine.)
  • Talk to Aiba as much as you can.
  • When you leave the library, there will be a listening in minigame. If you do it perfectly, you'll be able to hear their whole conversation. Try your best.
  • The door is being guarded. You can either use your abilities on the purple planters or push the vase over. Keep in mind, using your abilities on the planters increases corrosion rate, but if you push the vase over it will be unusable.
  • Talk to everyone in the room as much as you can. Everyone is stressed, so I would highly advise trying to be as understanding as you can and try to find out the reasons for certain things happening. Please also keep in mind that harsher dialogue options will affect a hidden time limit later in the chapter.
  • You will enter a state of confusion after what you see after leaving the room. You can either go upstairs to the men's bathroom and use the vase there (if you broke the one earlier) or use the one close by (if you didn't). Don't take too long to find the vase or you will run out of stamina and die. Don't go down the stairs while in a state of confusion either, or you will also die, but in a different way.
  • Get a survival knife from the man in the kitchen on 1F. You can also get it by pulling it out of a body in the 3F break room, but that will spawn a monster and will also cause you to be attacked by the man in the kitchen on 1F if you talk to him, so I advise against it.
  • Go back and talk to Aiba. Again, as much as you can.
  • You'll see that a book has fallen on the floor of the library. Read it.
  • Use the door between the library and break room. It will lead you to a corridor. There's a map in there, so pick that up. (You don't need to. However, again, it's more convenient.)
  • Go to the 1F confessional to get the code number note.
  • Use this and unlock the box in the 1F reception office. The PIN is 6841. You will get two keys. One is to the reception room to the right of the office. Go in there and pick up the note on the floor. Make sure you read it.
  • Aiba will have asked you for bandages when you talked to him earlier. The bandages are in the 3F women's dorms, in the cabinets. Go back to him, and he'll ask you for crutches. Those are in the 1F warehouse.
  • Pick up the stick in the locker in the 1F toilets, and you'll be able to use it to take the key out from under the monster in 2F. You can then enter the room and take back everyone's things.
  • Make sure you've given Aiba the bandages and crutches before you take everyone's things back.
  • Take the old cellphone to the lab on 2F (the one that was unlocked with the key you got from the reception desk) and charge it.
  • Go back to the library. You'll see that Aiba's gone.
  • Return to Yanagi and Kurachi. During the scene that follows, pick up the sparkling piece of debris on the ground, then escape the room. Don't take too long. (Yes, you can die here too if you do.)
  • At the point where Karen runs upstairs, use the stairs up to 2F in the church to intercept her, not the ones by the bathroom (also, don't take too long, again.)
  • Run to the 1F confessional room. It will be unlocked. Go inside. The solution to the lights out puzzle is 'top left (7 key) top right, (9 key) center (5 key) and bottom center (2 key). This is also timed (not visibly, but if you talk to Karen by the entrance and she isn't telling you to hurry anymore, she's just giving you a horrified look and going '......' you have taken too long) , so be careful. Your answers to Yanagi earlier will affect how long the timer goes for. Jabuchi should tell you about a hidden door at the end of this, if you've done it right.
  • Use the survival knife on the arm to get the finger.
  • After this, go to the lab and get the phone back. It should be charged now. The password is 'tina'. Or rather, ティナ.
  • When you're back in the room with everyone, talk to everyone as much as you can (again). Karen will give you a key, and some of Kurachi's dialogue should change if you got the Kanou flag.
  • Now that you have the key, you should be able to unlock the room with all the books. Read the yellow ones. (You can read the rest, if you'd like, but those give interesting information. You need the one about 'origins' to unlock S ending.)
  • Go to the hidden room on the fourth floor that Jabuchi mentioned, and check the curtain. You'll find a door. Inside the room is a diary. Make sure you read it, don't just pick it up.
  • If you're on S route, the flashback at the beginning of chapter 7 will change and you'll be able to leave the room instead of just overhearing people outside the door.
For chapter 7:
(One warning about Chapter 7: there's a hiding minigame where the screen goes completely black later on in the chapter. It's not too difficult, but keep in mind that if you fail it there will be a startling image flashed on the screen (monster).) There aren't really any other things like that in this chapter besides this minigame.
  • Examine the plant in the corridor (on the Moon Floor) to get a plant fragment.
  • Check the orange book in the control room to get a certain photo (you need this for S end) Also check the analysis machine in the control room, or you won't be able to pick up the handkerchief later.
  • Go into the storeroom on the Moon Floor and check the shelves to get hydrogen peroxide.
  • Check all the rooms for yellow books. You need to find and read Kazue Enomoto's reports number one through six (and then get her disk once you read the sixth) for S end. Three reports are on the Moon Floor, two are on the Star Floor, one is below the courtyard.
  • There are also five rats that you need to interact with in order to get flashbacks. You need to collect them all for S end. One is in the courtyard, there's one in isolation cell A & B, one is in the control room. You can do this/collect the reports in any order, but make sure you finish these things before you make the call on the stairs.
  • The elevator puzzle answer is up 4, down 5, up 6, down 4, up 6.
  • Examine the toilet on the Star Floor to find a key.
  • The password is 'Stella'.
  • The vision blocking the door will disappear if you use the hydrogen peroxide you collected earlier.
  • Check the book that's fallen on the floor in the cultivation room to get a flower tag. A chase scene begins when you pick up the flower tag, so run to the elevator. There's some mild flashing, so turn your screen down just in case, but it's not as bad as the flashing in ch4.
  • Pick up the bloody handkerchief in the corridor on the Moon Floor.
  • Pick up the ballpoint pen (shining object) next to the box near the elevator on the Moon Floor.
  • Use the bloody handkerchief on the machine in the control room to get a code (then you can enter Isolation cells A & B)
  • Examine the box in Isolation Cell B to get the bible and the phone.
  • Use the pen on the blank piece of paper on the desk to get a map (again, not required but convenient)
  • Examine the flower nametag and then go to the courtyard and examine the potted plant. You can use your ability to get rid of the grass, but if you don't want your corrosion rate to raise, just use the sickle you'll find in the top left corner of the courtyard
  • The terza rima puzzle answer is 'fish' 'rose' 'organ' 'star' in that order.
  • Go back to the hidden stairs and call back. You need to find all the rats and read the reports before you do this. You'll know you've read all the reports once you read the last report and get the ROM. If you don't get it when you read the last report, you've missed one. You'll have to find the one you missed and then go back & read the last report again. The last report is in one of the rooms past the hidden stairs, and you'll see the Isolation Cell A rat only after you've finished the terza rima puzzle.
  • Lure the monster to Isolation Cell A, just like Riku suggests.
The path after that should be relatively simple.

Story:

The Otowa Detective Agency is on lunch break in Shinjuku. It’s right before midsummer. Rui Otowa is the president’s son, the chief of the Nagoya branch, and a detective himself. Tomorrow he’s going to go to his parents’ house for a week to spend the holidays, but when he goes out with a coworker during his break, the summer sun wavers. He's attacked by unusual ‘distortions’ and dragged into a world different than the one he was in. Rosemaria. With these two cases, it seems like a fairytale-like adventure spanning two worlds has begun.

With the tower(the world) born from the people trapped in the portrait as its stage, and borrowing the name ‘mirage’, the curtains rise once more on the comedy.

Contents:

  • Deduction x Investigation x Attack=An exploration adventure game with RPG elements.

  • 8 chapters + a.

  • Endpoints (E/H/B/D/N/P-Vein) + a

  • Less horror/gore than the previous game (I can’t say there isn’t any at all)/Fantasy elements/Battles (No leveling system)/Heterosexual relationships and homosexual relationships both appear in this work

  • Estimated time to clear the game…About 30 hours(??) ?? hours to get all ends

  • RPG Maker MV/Win10 CPU i5 4GB memory or higher recommended.

Stage:

In 「細胞神曲-Cell of Mirage-Portrait of Eigha Iliner」the protagonists go to two worlds.

Tokyo.

In 2018, in Japan, in the second half of July. It’s around the time where students are going on their summer breaks, and adults are preparing for Obon. Otowa had planned to stay at his parents’ house while he was on a business trip, but got involved in an incident. He has his coworkers in Tokyo, Asada and Shinano. His subordinate and friend in Nagoya, Atou, is supporting him, he’s exchanging information with the patrons of a bar he often goes to, Oriental, and he’s investigating many different places. During that week that he’s taken as a vacation, he’s trying to solve the mystery of the mirage disappearance incident, and help his friends, himself included, completely escape from the other world. This is mainly where the investigation and deduction segments take place.

Rosemaria.

Otowa and his friends have found themselves in another world called ‘Rosemaria’. It’s a fantasy world based on the 2.5D anime, ‘Magical Boy Dita and the Divine Sword’...or at least it should be, but something’s a little bit off about it.

With the help of the hero trying to save this Rosemaria, Dita, he sees many different things and visits the towns that people live in, as well as ‘dungeons’. His other objective is to get all the people who have been dragged into Rosemaria back alive, and find out the truth behind this incident. This is where the battles and the RPGish part take place.

questions pt 2 )
dreamofarcadia: (Default)

[These questions are reposted in the fanbook, but I got all of these from the official twitter, and you can read them yourself in Japanese by clicking the tweet link below each question. I compiled these all myself. There are a lot of questions here, so if there are any questions I missed from the twitter, broken links, or links to different questions that managed to sneak in, please let me know. I did include and translate Fukao’s foreword included with these from the fanbook, though, just because I think people might be a bit confused about whether these were part of the ‘canon timeline’ or not otherwise.

Please note that the questions I have and have translated are specifically the ones from the official twitter- the question box compilation mentions that they were edited, corrected, and republished, but these edits are not included in my translation and so these versions of the questions will likely differ from the fanbook’s versions, although I haven’t checked to what degree.

I do encourage you to look at the official fanbook if you have it or purchase it if you’re curious about the differences, though.(You can do that here- you’ll get two books, an artbook and another book with all the CoE flags in the game, an official timeline of the game’s events, and a question box compilation)  https://booth.pm/ja/items/1924870 [I use tenso for shipping, but you’ll need to set up a tenso account before you order].

One last note: Please also keep in mind that these questions started in mid-2018 and went to the beginning of 2019. Many of them were published before the release of the DLC, so the information in some questions may be out of date— for example, the question about the CoE sequel isn’t current information, and the question regarding what characters Fukao expected to be popular is based solely off of their appearances in the CoE base game, not the DLC.]

Here's part 2 and part 3 and part 4.

[Here's a translation of one of the CoM reports posted on the official website. There are only two for now, but I'll probably update when more come out- it says there are seven planned. Also, interestingly, the icon in the background of the reports on the website says N. P (N. Portman?) which is a name that may be familiar to you if you have the artbook.]
[Also, of course, let me know if I've gotten the readings of some of the names wrong so I can fix it.]

Watari: What about Kento?

Guide: KENTO went to see the other side of the bazaar. Will you go too, KEI?

Watari: Afterwards. I’d like to see the church ahead of us first.

(He looks beyond the expansive, lush, green hill)

Watari: I have a habit of taking pictures of that church and the garden in the back whenever I come to this village.

But it really is unfortunate that I couldn’t greet the pastor himself this time.

Guide: Well, he is getting on in years.

He was tending the garden the day I came to get permission to visit the grounds, though.

Watari: I see.

(The young man is wearing glasses. He has a guitar case on his back, and a high-quality camera hanging around his neck.)

Guide: I know this isn’t the first time you’ve come here, but just to make sure…

Watari: No photography of anything past the back garden, right?

Guide: Yes, exactly.

Guide: Oh, by the way, you know there are days when photography isn’t allowed on the church grounds at all, right?

Watari: Yep, when I first came here and asked for permission to photograph, he told me that~ I could do what I wanted, but—

(The young man partly closes his eyes, and lets out a short laugh.)

Watari: He said there were days when I might end up taking a picture of an angel.

Guide: Yes, but it’s only around mid-July.

Watari: Wish I could meet that angel.

Guide: No, you can’t! Everyone’s always told me to not try to do that, ever since I was young.

(The guide, who lives there, and the young Japanese man walk towards the church together.)

Watari: This place—-

(The young man stops to look back at the bustling village.)

Watari: I quit my job, left everything behind, went on a journey with just my camera and guitar, and this is the place I ended up.

(The wind blows.)

Watari: Everyone was so kind…Even though I was a stranger, they took good care of me.

Guide: Well, you know, this village was originally built by strangers.

Watari: So it seems.

Guide: I was born in this village…It’s been many generations since it was founded, and it might have changed a lot, but the tradition of welcoming and taking care of strangers still remains.

Watari: This really is a wonderful place. That’s why I’d like to film here one day.

Guide: Film a music video?

Watari: Yeah.

(It gets noisier behind them. A young man, holding food he’s bought at the bazaar, waves at the two of them as they walk towards the church.)

Sayo: Keeeeeei! These sweets are soooooooo tasty!

Watari: Yeah, yeah. Don’t walk while you’re eating.

Guide: Hahaha.

Guide: What kind of song are you writing?

Watari: This time?

Guide: Yeah, what kind of song are you writing, using this place as your inspiration?

Watari: It’s—-

(He looks down.)

Watari: It’s pretty much a cheering song.

Guide: Oh, that sounds nice. What is it for?

Watari: Ah, well, it’s the theme song for a certain movie.

Guide: That’s amazing? What kind of movie?

Watari: Well…

Watari: It’s about farewells.

Guide: Farewells…?

Watari: Ah, well—- more like a story about saying goodbye.

That movie is the world’s way of saying a final farewell to us. I’m sure of it.

Guide: ??? Are you talking about some kind of bad end where the world is destroyed or something?

Watari: No.

(He opens his eyes and slowly starts to set his camera up.)

Watari: It’s a farewell. But I think the script is a comedy. In other words, that it’ll have a happy ending.

Guide:...??

Watari: Haha. I’ll bring it when it comes out on Bluray and DVD. We can watch it together. Our song should be playing at the end.

Guide: I’m looking forward to it. We can watch it with KENTO and the other staff.

Watari: Yeah.

(The click of a camera shutter can be heard clearly.)

Watari: Kento said he wasn’t satisfied with the phrase after the final chorus yet, though.

Guide: Huh? Really? I thought the song was done already.

Watari: Well, it is, mostly…But he keeps rewriting that one part.

(Watari’s brows are furrowed, but he smiles regardless.)

Watari: It’d be nice if we could find something that worked on this journey of ours.

Guide: Hopefully you find it while you still have time to make changes.

Watari: Honestly.

(As the two of them stand on the stone stairway, a fresh breeze brushes them. And Watari speaks, as if he’s letting his words float away into that breeze.)

Watari: “We were trying to crush our own sorrow with hope.” Was that it?

Takagi: It’s been a long time, Miwa. Have you been well?

Miwa: Yes, I have! Oh, and it seems like your leg has gotten a lot better, Takagi-san!

Takagi. Yeah, thankfully. I was really causing trouble for everyone for a while. Please, take a seat.

Miwa: Thank you.

Takagi: Do you want your usual order of black tea?

Miwa: Yeah!

(The sound of someone sitting down on the sofa. Footsteps going towards the kitchen, and someone’s movements as they put the kettle on.)

Takagi:…I know I’m repeating myself, but I really am sorry.

Miwa: Hmm?

Takagi: That I couldn’t be part of MBDS with you till the end.

Miwa: Ah, yeah…Well, it’s true, I really was disappointed. But there wasn’t anything else that could be done. And I couldn’t put it off any longer, no matter what.

So, honestly, I’m the selfish one for asking for someone to fill in for you.

I should really be the one apologizing here. I’m sorry.

Takagi: But since the person you asked was Shiyo-san, I knew my role was in good hands.

You’re almost done with shooting for the series, right? Hang in there.

Miwa: I will!

(The sound of Takagi coming back with a drink and placing it on the desk. They silently thank each other, and Takagi sits on the sofa.)

Takagi: Hey, are you really going to quit?

Miwa:...Well, ah, yes, but…

Takagi: Have you told anyone else?

Miwa: Mm, well…My manager and Kado-san, and you, of course.

And Toma-san, and…Azusa-chan, and Ezumi-san know, I think.

And the person in charge at A/Z/MA, and the president.

Takagi: I see…

(A pause.)

Takagi: Is there some reason you're making this decision? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to, of course.

Miwa: …

(Miwa, staring at his own reflection in the teacup.)

Miwa: I wanted to put an end to this in the best way I could.

Takagi: Oh, you mean your acting career.

Is this one of those “I want to stop doing this when I’m still in my prime” sort of things?

Miwa: My acting career? It’s more like…me, playing the role of Dita.

Takagi: Oh?

Miwa: I love playing that role from the bottom of my heart.

But that’s exactly why I’d like to bring it to an end while I’m still at my best, and then afterwards, come to my own end.

Takagi: You’re being so dramatic, people are going to think you’re talking about something else, you know.

Miwa: Haha.

(Takagi takes a deep breath.)

Takagi: But you won’t change your mind no matter who says what to you, will you?

Miwa: Yeah. I have to do it now, or else.

No— I should say, I can’t put it off any longer.

Takagi:...

Miwa: …

Takagi: I won’t dig too deep into it.

But tell me if there’s anything I can do.

I know this is kind of a cliche thing to say, but…You’re not alone. Remember that.

Miwa: I know! Thank you, Big Bro!

Takagi: Ahahaha. I guess you kind of are my little brother, in a way.

(Takagi’s cellphone rings.)

Takagi: Ah, it’s Toma. Take it easy, okay?

Miwa: I will!

Ah, ask him about bringing Azusa-chan along with us to Nagoya to eat food cooked in miso next time, okay~?

Takagi: I did already. —-Yes, hello? Ah, yeah.

(Takagi exits the room, talking cheerfully.)

Miwa:...

(Miwa stares out the window, then wraps his arms around himself like the cold is bothering him.)

Miwa:...Just a little bit more. Just until everyone can see the movie…

That’s…all I need. So please—-please, somehow, let me hold out until then….

dreamofarcadia: (Default)
[Here are the CoM profiles from the official twitter, plus translations of the official comments on the tweets.]

Rui Otowa:

Male, 32 y/o, 180cm tall (5’9), detective.

President of the Otowa Detective Agency, and the oldest son of the previous president, as well as the Nagoya branch chief.

Calm and collected, good at both academics and athletics, a man who objectively gives off a  “can-do-anything” sort of feeling.

On a business trip to Tokyo, he gets dragged into a mirage, and finds himself in another world called “Rosemaria.”

There, he meets a boy named Dita, who calls himself a “magical knight”. Because Dita helped him out, he decides to adventure with him.

While doing so, he ends up having to deal with many mysterious incidents…

“I see. Is that the whole problem? So then, what can I do to help you?”

“I understand…well, not really. I don’t really think I like this, but I’m not opposed to it, either.”

Dita Illner:

Male, 16 y/o, 159cm tall (5’2), magical boy knight

It’s the famous boy idol, Teita Miwa, in his appearance as the 2.5d hybrid anime protagonist of the movie “Magical Boy Dita and the Sacred Sword”...But, he himself seems to have no memory  of being “Miwa”, and instead, calls himself “Dita”, from the DTDS world Rosemaria.

He has a faded sword in his left hand, and a mysterious cat-like-creature following him around.

On more than one occasion, he ends up helping Otowa, who’s out of his element. Believing that the strange developments in Rosemaria are unmistakably the work of his older brother, the demon king Eigha, he asks Otowa and the others for help.

“Hey…hey! Please!! I’m working with you, so I want you to help us too!”

“...Something’s weird. I don’t like this. Me, Eigha…there’s something different about both of us.”

Godzylla

Male animal, about 50cm (1’6 feet) long, mysterious creature

I am Godzylla.

I am a perfectly normal cat.

In this world, cats have eight legs, wings, and can talk. That is a perfectly normal thing.

I am able to speak perfectly normally, but someow I keep adding cat puns when I meowlk.

It’s because I am a cat, you see.

And furthermore, my “length” does not mean that I can grow to that size, but that if I stretch myself out I can extend myself that far.

Cats are a liquid, you see.

Meow.

And Dita is my perfectly normal friend.

And furthermore, you may wonder how I am able to eat and talk despite having no mouth. It’s the mystery of being a 2D character, you see.

“Myaaaagh!! It’s so rude to say “Yikes” when you see something as pawsitively adorable as me!!”

“My puns are slipping?” Well, I can’t do anything about that. I’m faking it, you see. Meeow.”

Kado Orie

Male, 49 y/o, 183cm (6 feet tall), author & scriptwriter

Writes scripts under the name of Eri Himeno.

He mainly writes scripts for anime and tokusatsu programs aimed at children and young audiences, but…he’s the exact opposite of the type of person you’d imagine would be working on those projects.

That is, a hard to please, obstinate, stubborn middle-aged man.

He’s tall, which adds to the sense of pressure, has a high-handed way of talking, has a sharp glare, and is a workaholic fussy about the smallest things. So even though he’s hard to get close to, on the flipside of that, he also has a lot of fans that look up to him.

He’s known Teita through his job for a long time, and they have a big enough age difference to be parent and child, so he seems to be soft on Teita in his own way, but…

“Don’t expect people to be the same as what they write.”

“I don’t make things just to project myself into them!”

Seira Kurachi

Female, 20 y/o, 152cm tall (4’9), student at a women’s college

Lives by herself in Tokyo and attends a women’s college.

She’s petite and baby-faced, but confident. Both men and women find her dependable. But…When she left her hometown, she tried to reinvent (?) herself at university. As a result, if you bring up the things she did in high school or the career path she wanted to take back then, she’ll either lie about it or get mad at you.

She had thought she’d just been seeing strange mirages, until one day when she was dragged into another world.

She met Rui and Dita in the Sparkling Town, and begged them for help. Her hometown is in the Chubu region.

“I don’t know if this is a dream or not, but I wanna go home! I wanna go back to my normal life!!!”

“Why am I seeing something like this? It’s so frustrating…Feels like I might end up enjoying it, actually. That’s a scary thought.”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: “Did the people who’ve played CoE see her and think “Wait, is she…?” Well, you’re right. She’s that person’s daughter.”

Ito Yamori

Male, 25 y/o, 167cm tall (5’4), self-proclaimed graphic artist

A young man who’s a self-proclaimed game graphic artist.

He talks with a mix of Kansai and Tokai dialect.

He would come off as an easygoing kind of guy, but he says a lot of flippant and kind of negative things, so those tend to stand out instead.

He doesn’t seem to want to talk much about his private life.

One day, he got dragged into a mirage, and ended up in Rosemaria’s Black Magic town.

He welcomes what happened, and as a result is unhelpful to the rest of the party’s efforts to help solve the problem.

However, it seems like there’s someone he wants to say something to in reality, so he ends up reluctantly joining the rest of the party.

“What? You’re telling me we came to an amazing world like this and you’re doing something so boring?”

“I’ll tell ya this right now. The top three words I hate are “justice”, “hard work”, and “good will”.

Creator’s comment on the tweet: He’s the next party member after Otowa, Dita, Godzylla, and Seira. But he’s not really the type to shake hands.

Nei Sunagawa

Female, 24 y/o, 172cm tall (5’6), occupation unknown

She has a charming appearance, and an open-minded and calm attitude. She has an unusual manner of dress, and seems like the kind of beautiful woman you might see in a painting.

Rather than giving off an “adult” aura, she just seems mature. Her philosophical way of saying things make her seem older than how old (she says) she is.

She has a glaive, and excels at martial arts. Her memories are vague, but before she knew it she ended up in Rosemaria’s Golden Town, and found herself spending a lot of time there. It seems like the only thing she can really remember about the real world is a certain woman. She happens to be there when Otowa and the others encounter a crisis, and joins the party in order to support them.

“You must be worried. But you can leave this to me. I’ve been in this world for longer than you all have, after all.”

“I understand. It’s human foolishness to not be capable of doing that, is it not?”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: The fifth “party member”. It seems like her situation’s a bit difficult to explain in many ways.

Kento Sayo

Male, 22 y/o, 179cm (5’8), part of a band.

He’s a member of a 2-person band called A-Free-Tone that’s been a hot topic recently. He provides the vocals, as well as the guitar, and other things he feels like doing.

He’s kind of naive, hot-blooded and extremely enthusiastic, innocent, and does whatever he likes.

From time to time you can see glimpses of his more cultured side from the way he was raised.

His motto is “If there’s something you want to do, see it through to the end, even if it kills you.”

He finds himself in Rosemaria’s Machine Town, and afraid of how strange the world is, he runs away and finds himself meeting up with the rest of the party.

He’s worried about his partner Kei, the band, and his mother more than his own problems.

“Let’s heat this beat up! This is Free-Tone’s KENTO!!! What a miracle meeting you is!!”

“Your reasoning’s sound. But it’s got no heart in it!!”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: The sixth party member. He gets heated up in all sorts of ways. Namely, how worked-up he can get and how loud he can yell. The party’s full of people who have their own problems to deal with, so he might end up lifting the mood.

Totori (Totori-chan)

Self-proclaimed maiden, eternally 29 y/o, appears to be taller than 2 meters (6’5)

The strongest dandy, the prettiest of all, everyone’s reliable Totori-chan. (With the head of a hummingbird) (and the heart of a pure maiden) (and the body of a muscular human male bodybuilder) (and a determined look in the eyes) (and fashionable clothing)(and the scent of flowers wafting around) Totori gives her name only as “Totori”, but any further inquiries into her background are met with “A kunoichi must keep her secrets, you know!”.

She’s stayed in Rosemaria’s Elegant Town for a bit, but realized on her own that she was a human from the real world. She seems to know something about Otowa and the rest of the party, too.

“Noooo! I hate fighting like this! Stop or I'll choke you!"

“Did you finally realize it? Yes, that’s right. We all have everything we want here!”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: These are all the “party members” that will be traveling with Otowa and Dita. Next week, we’ll be introducing some of the important side characters.

Even though Totori looks like this, she’s a suuuuuper serious(?) character, so I hope you enjoy her.

Eigha Illner

Male, appears to be in his late twenties, about 190cm (6’2), demon lord

His existence had been hinted at ever since the “Magical Boy Dita and the Sacred Sword” series, and then in Season 4 and the movie, he appeared as the last boss, the demon lord who brought evil to Rosemaria. He’s also Dita’s older brother. He controls corruption called the Miasma, and uses it to corrode the people and living things of Rosemaria…Or at least that’s what happened in the DTDS movie. So then why is this Eigha attacking Dita and Otowa, saying “I have to eliminate you two in order to protect this world”?

“Take my hand. This world won't abandon you. Not like that one."

“Shut up…! If you get in my way, I’ll eliminate you! I won’t let anyone harm this ■■■!”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: Now, we’re introducing someone who’s the opposite of a party member. The Demon King, playing the role of a villain, and the person whose name appears in the game’s subtitle. Eigha Illner. He’s Dita’s older brother, but what could he be doing in this Rosemaria? And for what purpose?

Maasa Asada

Male, 42 y/o, 181cm (5’9), detective.

Vice-chief of the Tokyo branch of the Otowa Detective Agency.

One of the few people who can talk to Otowa as a superior. He’s a capable man who can keep the ragtag eccentrics at the agency (including the president) in check, but he can also pull ridiculous antics (including making himself the butt of the joke) with a completely straight face. He’s also strangely knowledgeable about niche subcultures. He is informed on the mysterious events that have led up to Otowa traveling between “Rosemaria” and reality, and provides important support on the reality side of things. He’s easygoing and has a cunning side to him.

“I’ll do my best to help you out with everything except the things that’ll give me more of these (gray) hairs on my head!”

“You’re blessed, young master Otowa. Remember that.”

“One day, the way you are will make you a demon to someone else.”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: His name showed up in CoE! And he’s finally making his appearance in CoM! In the group of weirdos that make up the agency, he really stands out as one of the biggest ones there! He can help out quite a bit. He’s also blunt enough sometimes to come off like he’s attacking someone.

Lin Orie

Male, 27 y/o, 180cm (5’9), online streamer

He does game LPs on a streaming site called CASTPort. He mainly gained popularity as a streamer from the videos he posts. His adoptive mother manages an izakaya called “Oriental” that the staff of the Otowa Detective Agency frequent. He helps out with the accounting and PR for it. He and his two beloved younger brothers are white Americans but don’t speak any English. He’s fluent in Japanese (and speaks a little Chinese). He appears as a bright and cheerful mega-nerd who’s good at talking to people, but he's also self-deprecating and gets nervous easily. He has a lot of connections online and is great at analysis, so his skills will be of great help in Otowa’s unusual situation.

“Well, it is true that I like cute boy characters, but that is NOT the same thing as being a fudanshi."

“I’ll do what I can to help. But if I know I can’t do anything, I’ll probably just run away at full speed.”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: He’s an older brother, a supporting character, and among those providing support on the reality side of things, he is an especially important interface.  His surname is “Orie”, but he (and his younger brothers) aren’t related to the family by blood. They’re different ethnicities, as well. Their izakaya is close to the Otowa Detective Agency, so it’s an important place in CoM.

Miara Kondou

Female, 26 y/o, 160cm (5’2), editor

She’s a young, elite editor who works for the Azuma Bookstore owned by the entertainment company A-Z/MA.

She has a way of letting people down gently, is pretty clumsy, and she says her room is extremely messy, so it might be hard to imagine it, but she’s extremely competent at her job.

With her supervisor suddenly gone missing, she was given the unenviable task of working with the scriptwriter, Kado Orie. Despite her misgivings about the disappearance, she didn’t call the police with her suspicions and instead went to K.K. Otowa Search System.

Soon enough, it turns out that her case is not just an isolated incident.

“Did you…did you just call me…Koala? No! It’s Miara!”

“Oh, I’m not particularly talented or anything! I just happened to get a good opportunity, is all.”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: She’s a girl who works at the Azuma Bookstore, which Kazaru Harada and Minoru Harada were once associated with. It’s owned by a large corporation that has a lot of entertainment projects associated with it. She gets worried when people misread her name as “Koala”. Is this encounter fate or simply coincidence?

Sueko Orie

Female, 52 y/o, 160cm tall (5’2), restaurant owner.

She runs “Oriental”, an izakaya on the first floor of a multi-tenant building, near the Tokyo branch of the Otowa Detective Agency.

All the employees of the agency are regular customers, and she knows them well. She’s the adoptive mother of Lin Orie and his two brothers, and Kado Orie’s older sister. Cheerful, friendly, and dauntless. Knows how to keep the three hard-to-deal-with brothers in line.

Sympathetic towards Otowa’s struggles, she and the brothers often help him out. Perhaps it’s because she can tell that the brothers are deeply involved with the recent incidents.

“Everyone, do you want something to drink? Maybe some oolong tea? Rui-kun, ginger ale for you, right? Hey, Lin, don’t just sit there! Help out!”

“He’s pulling people into things again, isn’t he…”

“About the protagonist of Mother’s series, ‘Tower’, Elliot…”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: The owner of an izakaya. Otowa and the others know her well. Atou, Shinano, and maybe even Reiji have been taken to it. Any sibling would be stumped dealing with her hard-to-please younger brother, but it seems she’s just worried about him. What could her intuition have told her?

Ryuu Nijou

Masculine, appears 25, 172 cm tall (5’6), ex-mercenary.

A man who was once working as a mercenary abroad. He has strangely colored hair, red eyes, and a black cloak around him. There are things that look like stitches on his face, and different parts of his face have slightly different skin colors and textures, almost as if he’s had different people’s faces sewn together. A right eye that always squints, a left eye that’s always wide open, and a mouth that always smiles…The twisted look of his face isn’t just because of the expression he’s making.

He’s been searching for the boy idol, Dita Miwa, and one dark night appears in front of him.

“Let’s return to Mother. There’s no need to worry. I’ll make sure I bring everything back with me.”

“I don’t particularly like doing cruel things.”

“I just don’t want to cut corners if there’s something I have to do. You’re the same, right? ■■■?”

Creator’s comment on the tweet: To all of you with the factor: DAWN, may we meet on the next dark night. Please wait for the interlude and the next part of the main story.

[Here are the profiles and description from the CoE official website.]

This is not the start of a nightmare, but the end of a peaceful dream.

Haruki Atou works for the Otowa Detective Agency.

He’s been asked to take care of his junior, Shinano, who has amnesia. But one day, Shinano suddenly goes missing.

After that, Atou tries to find him, and learns that his last known location was a facility owned by a religious group called Path to Empireo.

He soon discovers the awful truth there and finds himself wrapped up in an incident.

But he’s starting to wonder if all of this might not have just happened by coincidence…

“Now, wilt thou enjoy the love of God?”

Haruki Atou

28 y/o, male, detective, 180cm tall (5’9)

Working at the Otowa Detective Agency as an investigator.

Calm and matter-of-fact.

Nina Yanagi

25 y/o, female, elementary school teacher, 163cm tall (about 5’3)

A woman who had moved to start her new teaching job in the city.

She got involved in the same incident against her will, just like Atou did.

It seems like she was trying to find her boyfriend, Jabuchi.

Terumi Kurachi

50 y/o, male, policeman, 175cm tall(about 5’7)

A policeman belonging to G prefecture’s second investigation team.
Got involved in the incident due to doing some searching around during his work.

A fourth year in elementary school. Riku Kumazaki’s daughter.

She and her father got involved with this incident.

Reiji Isoi

In his early 20s, male, part-time-worker, 169cm (about 5’5)

A mysterious young man. According to him, he just does various part-time jobs here and there.

It seems like he just got involved with this incident by chance, just like everyone else,
but he’s unusually calm despite the situation.

Very physically strong.

Aogu Kanou

33 y/o, male, researcher, 178cm (about 5’8)

A surviving researcher at Path to Empireo.

A whimsical person whose optimistic attitude has a touch of madness to it.

He seems to be cooperating with Atou and the others, for the time being.

Ibuki Aiba

19 y/o, male, college student, 185cm (about 6 feet)

Attends Theosophy University in Tokyo.

When he came searching for a relative of his he was worried about, he ended up finding out about this case.

He says such philosophical things that you wouldn’t think he’s just a college student.

Riku Kumazaki

28 y/o, male, software engineer, 165cm (about 5’4)

He worked with security systems in his last job.

Karen Kumazaki’s father, and an ex-employee of Path to Empireo.

He’s extremely wary, and sharp-tongued towards those he considers his enemies.

You Jabuchi

27 y/o, male, a leader at Path to Empireo, 165cm (about 5’4)

Yanagi’s ex-boyfriend. A bishop in this organization.

He appears ruthless, short-tempered, and violent, but the true reason for his behavior is…?

Noa Enomoto

35 y/o, female, a leader at Path to Empireo, 158cm (about 5’1)

A bishop, and this organization’s NO.2.

She looks a lot younger and prettier than her actual age,
but her personality’s extremely ruthless and she doesn’t tend to listen to what other people think.

Noriyuki Utsugi

55 y/o, male, the head of Path to Empireo, 180cm (5’9)

An archbishop, and the leader of this institute.

He seems polite and gentle, but his words and deeds are clearly tinged with madness.

Minoru Harada

?? y/o, male, a journalist, 176cm (about 5’7)

A man who shows up in flashbacks, and an outsider to this organization.

Acts over-familiar with absolutely everyone. A shallow sort of person.

Just what could he be doing now?

Hajime Hatsutori

60 y/o, male, the founder of Path to Empireo, 170cm (about 5’5)

The founder, who is considered a “savior” within the institution itself.

Believed to have died 15 years ago.

Root Hints: (Highlight to view. Kanou flag information is on the walkthrough page.)

[Yes, this entire thing needed you to highlight it on the official site.]

Root E:

Requirements: Everyone except Atou and Aiba die.

  1. Don’t catch Karen when you’re chasing her in ch6.

  2. Let Yanagi die during the Jabuchi confrontation.

Both these conditions need to be met. There’s a hidden countdown when you’re trying to solve the Lights Out puzzle, get the key, and get into the room where Jabuchi is. What the time limit actually is varies based on what answers you’ve picked in conversation with Yanagi, but if you take too long, she’ll die.

Root D:

Requirements: Everyone except Atou, Aiba, Riku, and Karen die.

  1. Catch Karen when you’re chasing her in ch6.

  2. Let both Yanagi and Kurachi die in the confrontation with Jabuchi.

  3. Don’t let Enomoto kill Riku and Karen in ch7.

These three conditions need to be met. There’s a hidden countdown when you’re trying to solve the Lights Out puzzle, get the key, and get into the room where Jabuchi is. What the time limit actually is varies based on what answers you’ve picked in conversation with Yanagi, but if you take too long, she’ll die.

If Yanagi dies, Kurachi will die as well due to certain circumstances.

Root C:

Requirements: Everyone except Atou, Aiba, and Yanagi die.

  1. Don’t let Yanagi die in the confrontation with Jabuchi.

  2. Let Kurachi die afterwards.

These two conditions need to be met.

Even if the Kumazakis are saved in ch6, if Kurachi isn’t saved, both of them will die in ch7.

Root B:

Requirements: Atou, Aiba, Yanagi, Kurachi, Riku, and Karen survive.

  1. Catch Karen when you’re chasing her in ch6.

  2. Don’t let Yanagi and Kurachi die in the confrontation with Jabuchi.

  3. Don’t fulfill the requirements for the A or higher routes.

These three conditions need to be met. If you fulfill the A or higher ends, you’ll proceed to ch8, but if you have a B rank or lower, you’ll go straight to ch9.

Root A:

Requirements: Do everything required for route B, but also save Shinano.

Up to ch6.

  1. Get the HDD in ch4.

  2. Don’t let Karen, Yanagi, or Kurachi die.

  3. Charge the dirty cellphone in ch6 -> unlock it-> take it with you.

  4. Obtain and read the Staff Member Note before you get the marked bible and head to the cathedral (it won’t work if you do it afterwards)

In ch7:

  1. Read the special documents in ch7.

  2. Finish the deduction sequence

  3. Don’t fulfill the requirements for S route

These conditions need to be met. If you’ve fulfilled A route or higher, you’ll go to ch8.

Root S:

Requirements: Do everything required for route A, but also understand the truth about Atou’s situation.

Up to ch6:

  1. Do all the things you need to achieve A route.

  2. Listen to everything Aiba has to say in ch6 (you’ll need to talk to him 3 times)

  3. Read the special documents in the reference room in ch6

  4. See the flashback in the library in ch6

  5. Examine the item in the hidden room that Jabuchi tells you about after his fight, if you heard from Yanagi about his past.

  6. If you do this, the flashback at the beginning of ch7 will be different.

In ch7:

  1. Fulfill the route A requirements (finishing the deduction sequence)

  2. See all the rat flashbacks in ch7

  3. Read all of Kazue Enomoto’s reports in ch7, and collect an item from a special place

  4.  Collect the Akashic Photo in ch7.

These conditions need to be met.

If these conditions are met, the flashback that happens when you confront Enomoto when you plan to rescue Isoi will have images appearing, not just text.

Chapter 7 (Part 1):

  11. Proceed with the event

  12. Examine the sealed cardboard box in the room next to the bathroom

  13. Let Enomoto pass, then follow the headless rat to the south hallway.

  14. Use Vision Shift on the figure blocking the door, then pour hydrogen peroxide onto the floor.

  16. The key is on the floor outside, or you can use stone abilities to open the shelf and get the cell suppressants.

  17. Leave the room, examine the book that’s fallen off the shelf, and pick up the flower label.

  18. After several steps, a baby will appear. Use the elevator and run to the upper floor.

  14. Find the baby in the nap room in the floor below (on the other side of the monitor room, deeper in the break room)

  15. Follow the plan, and catch up to Isoi afterwards

  16. The path to Enomoto is relatively straightforward from here if you follow the events

Chapter 8:

After you return to the old building, there’s only one path. There are still some riddles and gameovers you can get here, but if you just try a little bit to figure them out, you’ll be able to move forward.

I’d like you to get through this chapter with your own effort.

You can reference these videos for help beating each boss. They have spoilers, so I’d like you to try at least once on your own if you can. But if you really can’t do it no matter how hard you try, please feel free to look at them.

This game has many ways to get a game over, and many different routes. But there’s only one ending. What it will be is up to your efforts.

Will you accept the love of God?

Regarding the Kanou flag:

Do everything you can on your own once Kanou leaves you alone when you enter B2F

Specifically, don’t join back up with him until you have the upper part of the Researcher’s Note and the Researcher’s Journal.

After you join back up with him, choose to stay silent in the conversation that comes up next, and you’ll live and be able to proceed with the story.

When you can walk around on your own in CH5, talk to Kanou (his dialogue changes whether you’ve activated the flag or not)

If you’re on B route or above in ch6, get the reference room key from Karen.

Examine the yellow book in the very bottom of the reference room, and you’ll reunite (?) with Kanou.

If you proceed through ch7, you’ll confront Kanou before the Enomoto fight.

What exactly happens when you do differs greatly depending if you’re on the B route or A route or above.

When you get to ch8 (if you have the A route or above flag) talk to Kurachi when you can move around freely, and accept the item from him. Whether you accept what it says is up to you, though.

Even if you don’t accept what it says, that curse will probably help Atou in the fights in ch8. The hidden effect it gives differs based on whether you’re on the A or S route.

Warnings regarding online shopping:

Please also check this link regarding handling of transactions and personal information.

Regarding Goods: We try to take as much care as we can to make sure of the quality of our products, but if there is a defect in a product you receive, please contact us and we’ll exchange it for you. However, this only applies to defects from the manufacturer— please don’t contact us for exchanges outside of that. Colors of the final product may differ slightly from the online samples, so please also be aware of that. Currently, I ship the products to the BOOTH warehouse, and then they ship it to the customers.

I also have a cat at home. I don’t think that it should affect the product you receive in the end, but I’d like to ask you to refrain from ordering if your product coming in contact with a cat at some point might bother you.

Regarding Packing: The goods will be put in an OPP plastic bag, with packing materials if needed to keep them intact. They might be a bit bulky, but they’re there for protection against breakage and water damage.

Regarding Order Receipts and Payment:

Please contact Booth for this.

Regarding Item Prices:

The prices listed include tax. There’s no need to calculate extra tax for them. You’ll have to pay the handling and shipping costs yourself, though.

Please make sure to check what each item’s shipping costs are.

You might need to use different order methods if you’re ordering in large amounts or shipping overseas, so make sure the service you’re using will work for that.

Regarding Canceling Orders: (Updated 2022/02/05)

Please contact Booth and follow the rules they’ve set regarding dealing with these kinds of things.

If you haven’t paid for the item yet, Booth will treat the order as canceled if you don’t pay for it within three days.

However, if you’ve already paid for the item, Booth’s policies won’t allow you to cancel, so keep that in mind.

If it’s an emergency and you absolutely have to cancel after you’ve paid, you can contact us for that.

However, the item will still be shipped from Booth to you, so we’ll treat it as a return of goods.

Again, please only return goods if they arrive with damages or defects, or if it’s an emergency.

Regarding Changing Your Shipping Address: (Updated 2022/02/05)

Please contact Booth. We can’t change your shipping address ourselves.

And, I apologize, but we can’t handle delivery or shipping-address-related questions at all. Again, please ask Booth.

A request from us: Please don’t resell our goods or make copies of them to sell on other sites.

If you no longer want the goods you’ve bought, please recycle them in whatever way you’d like.

Please do not copy or plagiarize our published work. We were the ones who worked on this, so we’d like to have that acknowledged.

We’d like to respond to business enquiries and questions as quickly as we can, but please keep in mind we have our own job and life issues to think about, so sometimes responses may be a little late.

Again, please click this link for other information regarding handling of transactions and personal information.

Finally: I apologize that this was so long, but thank you for reading. If there are any parts of it that seem unclear to you, please feel free to contact and ask.
